Alexandre Alonso

Alexandre Alonso (born 1978) is a Lisbon based painter with a diploma in architecture (Lisbon 2001) and a master’s degree in large-scale architecture (Barcelona 2003).

In 2014, Alexandre decided to make a radical career change and follow his passion for art, thus becoming a full-time visual artist. Self-taught, Alonso’s desire to transform and shape structures of the soul into large-scale portraits has become the focal point of his work.

Alexandre’s work is displayed in various distinguished private collections around the world and has been featured in numerous national and international publications.

With a sold-out debut show (2014), ‘Three Man Show’ Alexandre Alonso is currently building his next body of work that will be shown towards the end of 2018, while working on several private commissions.

No weeks are equal at Merc’art.

Each one is special because it will be entirely dedicated to one artist and his|her work.
