About the artist
Tom Barry (b 2000) is a Lisbon based Irish photographer who’s work was first noticed on social media by international mainstream skateboarding magazines when he was only 13.
Fascinated by geometry, night lights and contemporary portrait photography or the occasional combination of the three, Tom puts these themes at centre stage in his work today.
Tom had his first solo exhibition in 2016 aged 16 in Cascais, Portugal which sold out on it’s opening night.
Although self-taught, Tom has been offered 2 apprenticeships by well-known photographers including JP Santos and a post-graduate training programme in photography.
Tom’s professional work has included documenting street art interventions, medical conferences and private portrait shoots as well as building model portfolios for models in Central models, L’Agence in Lisbon and W model management in the UK.
Tom is currently working on his portfolio focusing on high-end fashion modelling projects for media publications and portrait photography as well as preparing to study photography and media studies at university in Scotland in 2020.
